As an affiliate member of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), Advanced Materials Technology Institute (AMTI) has the Functions and Missions as follows:

1. Functions:

• Conduct scientific research and develop technologies, components, devices, and applications related to the field of advanced materials.
• Train human resources in the field of advanced materials.
• Create an academic environment for scientists and enterprises, both domestic and international, to collaborate in implementing ideas, conducting research, transferring technologies, developing products, and training human resources.

2. Missions:

• Organize the implementation of research tasks that are fundamental and strategically oriented, aligned with national socio-economic development goals and global science and technology trends; generate high-value, applicable results that contribute to key industries.
• Foster and develop a highly qualified human resource pool; coordinate the organization of training activities, supervision of doctoral candidates, and technology transfer.
• Promote domestic and international cooperation; participate in national and international science and technology programs; develop products with high potential for application and commercialization.
• Carry out tasks assigned by Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM).
